It’s great to see new programs being developed. With all the advances in technology, it’s important to use all the resourses we can to help everyone, especially those with disabilities, succeed.

I think this is a fantastic idea for children with autism who live in rural areas. We tend to take our access to specialized care for granted when we live in a bigger city. Once the research phase is complete, I wonder how affordable such a service would be for a family. Having daily and immediate access to a specialist would appear to be quite expensive. Hopefully they can find an affordable way to help our these families in need. Nevertheless, I think this program will have great success as it helps to teach the child in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.

I think this program is great for those mothers who could not drive or leave their home. Would this program be efficient for those autistic children who already do the basic task?

What a wonderful program, not only for families who can’t leave the house to get to various appointments, but for all families with Autistic children. I could only imagine the frustration and guilt the parents must feel on a day to day basis. Being able to have someone to help and talk to 24/7 would help tremendously.

This study sounds like it will give a huge break through for families with autistic children. I am glad to see professionals taking the issue of autism seriously, the families with autistic children at my church often speak of the fact that many people treat their autistic children like it is a phase they are going through or that if the parents used discipline the children would have turned out differently. Keep up the good work in finding ways to aid families and children with autism and in educating them as well.

I think that this really neat that you can get help by video in your own home and that the specialist in Florida can see how your child behaves and give you support or ideas on how to cope with what the child is doing.
