It’s good to be aware of Autism, and know the symptoms and how they behave so we can understand these special learners and know how we can help them feel close and more connected to other people
Another film that documents many of the behavioral aspects this short film touches on is “Autism: The Musical”. The film follows a group of autistic children putting on a musical about autism. The film is more about the children and their families, using the musical project as avenue to learn more about each child. The film follows a spectrum of autistic children from aspergers to non-verbal while paying particular attention to autism’s effects on the family unit. It is a moving portrayal of this disability.
I didn’t realize that some Autistic children experience self injuring acts because of their frustration to communicate. I also know that there is a really large spectrum of types of autism, I wish the video would have shown a few of them.
Short, but filled with good information on autistic children. I wish the video showed interaction with an autistic child. Self-mutiliation is a concern, I experienced this with my one-on-one, I’m an aide for. Luckily he did not seriously injure himself, but the proper authories were called, so he could receive the proper counseling he needed.
What a wonderful short clip. I wish that it was mandatory in all schools that children are educated about the behaviors of the autistic child. I think that education is the key to understanding and having compassion towards others with disabilities.
I felt that this short video was very imformative but not very helpful with showing ways to help the children with autism. I wish that it did show interaction with kids to see the definitions the video gave in action. I also was not aware that children with autism may conflict injuires on themselves out of frustration. I hope there are new advancements in technology, science and health to help these children.
THis video ha a lof of good information and some I didn’t know already. For example the self injurious behaviors and how they harm themselves. I also thought that the video brought awareness to others about what symptoms and behaviors an autistic person many have.
This clip is great. It explains so much about Autism for people who do not know anything about it. More people should watch this before just pushing kids away from the help they need.

I very much agree with Sana, the video was short but very on point. Wish the video showed some type of interaction with an autistic child.
