Full Pot

I would truly like to say that Special Education Teachers are some of the most caring people that I have met.  While parents are the experts with their one child, Most Special Ed teachers are trying to balance twenty to thirty students with different disabilities.  In these trying times I want to encourage you, Special Ed teachers, to keep your priorities straight. It is easy to forget why you are here. We all have to deal with time restrictions, meetings, lesson plans, reduction of staff, increase of students on your caseload and so much more.  As the liaison between the District who mandates your caseload and the parents. It is still our job to to help these students reach their full potential.

” You cannot make the disability or problems go away. But you can take the tools that you have learned and make the child and their family feel beautiful again” Help them reach their full potential despite what is going on around you.

I agree with this person. if it wasn’t for Special Ed teachers this kids would not have the things they have now, such being able to learn a thing or two. These kids need help and why not give them that help. I never worked with special ed kids but i can just imagine how difficult it can be when you have a variety of special ed kids in a classroom. I applaud them and thank them for what they are doing.

I agree with Linda. It must be really hard for the teachers to teacher a classroom with students who have learning disability or who have any type of disability. They are doing a good job in being patient and love what they are doing. Making the students feel comfortable and tell them they can do it too!! No matter what they have, they can do it.

    Hello Full Potential
I am a strong believer and fully support the article. There is no doubt about the article, i am very appreciative of the Special ED teachers and even instructors who canmake difference in the lives of differently abled children and the the instructors like Mr. Brown whom i know now as a student who is making a different in my understanding of the Special ED. class i am taking. I took to learn about differently abled people to increase my knowledge but i cannot explain how much i am gaining and learning to accept children with special needs in the first place and further things can change. As humans is is hard for me to accept change but i am changing my perspective now. They must have got an instructors like Mr. Brown who really can convience. I am seriously thinking of working with children with special needs, but i need to learn more about this field. I am so proud of Every family and teachers who are making a great contribuion in peoples life. Please keep the hard work and those children will bless you truly. Malti raja.

I hope to become one of the special ed teachers who make a difference in a kid’s life. For some students, their teachers are the only ones who believe in them, and special ed kids have many more obstacles to overcome.

i agree with this. special ed teachers are very caring, they try to provide the student with all teh needs in the classroom. i mean these teachers need to form a relationship with a student with special needs fast. we are limited as we have not been acainted to this child all their lives. The child does spend much of their time at school and teachers are finding it harder to help the student to their full potential beacause of all the paperwork that is required. the paperwork just keeps adding up! The paperwork is very usefull however beacause this gives the new teacher a lot to work with. by reading these notes they are more fully aware of the child and just allows them to catch up.

I feel the same. We are all here for a reason, and you really have to have a heart for this job because it takes a lot of love and support to give to these children on a daily basis.

I am now working as an aide in the special education department of a high school. The teachers that I work with are indeed the most caring and concerned people that I have ever met in regards to their students. Yes, the student ratio has increased and the paperwork is never ending, but each day these teachers come to their classes with smiles on their faces and interest in each of their students. I watch and learn just like the students that each one of them is heading in the right direction of reaching their full potential thanks to these teachers.

I really believe that special ed teachers are in a class of their own. I have always thought that it takes a special person to be a special ed teacher or caregiver, and as I have more contacts with these types of educational programs, the more convinced I am that it is true. They really put out their best effort and their heart to help children with disabilities reach their full potentials. Hats off to special ed teachers!!!!

I agree when it says “you can take the tools that you have learned and make the child and their family feel beautiful again” Help them reach their full potential despite what is going on around you.” because they really do. Just as how I volunteered at couple different special education facilities, all of the teachers that i have met were very loving and caring. Even though some of the students may be difficult to handle, they are very patient and kind and have a heart for the students. They dont try to get rid of the disability but rather help the students reach their full potential.

This is an inspiring article that helps remind teachers why they are doing what they are doing and to focus on the positive. So often we only focus on negative things that impact our lives that we forget to be thankful for the positive.
