Im really glad that there is an autism awareness day. I hope that there are more awareness days for other disabilities like cerebral palsy, ADHD, etc.

It’s great that there is a world awareness day for autism but we need to keep issues like these in our hearts and minds every day. Hopefully as the message spreads that will happen.

On April 2nd HBO premiered their documentary “A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism”. This film documents an Icelandic mother and her non-verbal autistic son and their journey to America to find suitable treatment, ultimately ending up at the Halo clinic in Houston, TX. Focusing more on the treatments of autism, this film may be helpful for any parent looking for new avenues of care for their autistic child. Check your local listings for the next broadcast or order a copy of HBO’s website. It is a very informative and moving film.

I never knew there was Autism awareness day. I want to really spread the word about this month that people recognize Autism and think of children more than ever.
