The classroom is set-up in a way I have not seen before. There is couches in the classroom. I liked that the teacher walked around the room and listened to the children that way in case some child was not participating the teacher could talk to them after class or at recess to find out why. Even the shyest child would participate. This is also a good way for children to talk and stay active in their class.

This video had some interesting points, but I dont know if this method would work with every child. Children that are easily distractied would find the nosie level to be very distracting and would focus more on what is going on around them then learning the concepts of the lesson.

Interesting video! Lots of energy in this classroom. The noise level would probably distract me, but I find that you can retain more information by repeating and teaching someone something you've just learned.

It is a very informative video. The teacher was very engaging. I like how the teacher used gestures to aid students in remembering the concepts they are learning. I also liked how the students are talking to each other and reiterating the concepts. However, I don't know how much they are truly learning because of the noise level and lack of assessment.

You make some good points above.
However, I also think that this can be helpful to you:
The book and Training Video: PREVENTING Classroom Discipline Problems

If you can get this book and video: [they are in many libraries, so you don't have to buy them] email me and I can refer you to the sections of the book and video [that demonstrates the effective vs. the ineffective teacher] that can help you.

If you cannot get the book or video, email me anyway, and I will try to help.

Best regards,

Howard
