I never really realized that you could tell a child was going to be autistic if they stacked things. This video was so moving because it shows everyone this this little boy is so smart and just like any other child. I really enjoyed this video.
There is so many different levels of autism. Seeing this boy so full of life and happy really puts a face on how an autistic child should be helped and nurtured in our society.
I like this video, it would be a good video to show to some parents whom sometimes just don’t want to belive that things might seem normal, but they are not. We have a girl in our class room that hasn’t beeen tested yet but I think she maybe Autistic.
The study of autism dates back from 1943 when physicians Leo Kanner and Hans Asperger were studing cases. In 1981 Lorna Wing brought more attention to the subject through her published paper on Asperger’s syndrome. Much more work is needed to continue to find the causes of autism. It is great to hear that President Obama supports the continued research on autism.
I think showing a video to classmates of a child who is Autistic is a wonderful idea. The students can see that the person is just like them in some ways, but also different from them, like everyone is. My co-worker and her sons who are both Autistic made a powerpoint about themselves so they could show their classmates and teachers in high school. I would make a video for my child and a powerpoint if they had Autism.
